An officer's career in the U.S. depends on many qualities and factors, among them commander quality and strict adherence to military law and the Constitution of the United States plays the main role. My new friends told us that American officers are strictly prohibited from accepting any gifts from subordinates and junior in rank, participating in gambling, using official means of communication for private needs. Especially sexual immorality is pursued. They are allowed spending their free time in their nice club. Sometimes infidelity is equated to the service crime. There are some facts when the collapse of a successful military career takes place for such reasons. There is one more indisputable requirement to an officer. He has to get high physical training. It is actual quality of every officer, from a lieutenant to four-star general. This quality is rigorously checked at least once every six months, according to the approved standard for each age group. Junior officers have to increase systematically the level of their military education in special colleges by three levels. When they become high officers, they need to follow it by four levels. I don't think that my new friends are dull and sad person. Certainly they have enough time for fun and spend their spare time in officer’s club. But I understand now these young people are the most solid and brave if I want compare them with my civil friends. The current U.S. system of promotion is kept a long tradition and ensures the normal selection of officers. Terms of service in each rank are established and strictly adhered. If the terms are exceeded, the officer shall be a subject to retirement. For example, the captain, who had been serving in the Army for 17 years and had no chance of improvement to be laid off without delay as a colonel after 30 years of service. Their professional qualities don't satisfy the army tasks. The system of assigning the highest military ranks is traditional. A decree issued by the president cannot assign a rank above brigadier general. The president just presents the material to the Senate, which decides finally to increase the higher rank. And a soldier is a poor thing if he doesn't dream of career of a general. My new friends say that appreciate highly the degree of social protection officer because it is one of the highest in America. So they and their relatives are proud of being connected to U.S. Army. Officers get six kinds of uniforms. They differ from the field to coat for gala receptions. However, the rules and traditions of the U.S. Army do not encourage the emergence of a military uniform in public places. It fits right on the service, where an officer comes in civilian dress. That is why you cannot see an officer wearing a uniform. Or you do it extremely rare. It was a pity nobody could guess I was accompanied by a group of smart brave officers that day. But I am sure that their physical forms and gentlemen qualities are differed from those of all others.
